Some warm-ups of Final Fantasy 7 from the past month.... the Remake gave me stars in my eyes for Barret Wallace.

A detail lost outside of the OG!FF7 was the painful awareness that Zack dragged Cloud's comatose body over the 2 continents you spent 50+ hours grinding your way through... anyway I've been thinking about Zack Fair's journey to Midgar for 23 years.
In anticipation for the first episode of the FF7 Remake, started revisiting WIP illusts for a nostalgia zine I had in the works... Here's the first of the collection.
(ps FF7R dropping in the middle of a viral pandemic overwhelming late-stage capitalist governing overseeing climate change is so on the nose it should count as a spoiler warning)
Even more warm-up scribbles of Promare.
So I finally saw Promare.
I drew a 13-page comic about a fairy who is maxed at The Absolute Most by being a status-effect nightmare of an RPG random encounter because she didn't get a party invite...
Script by Alex Singer, lettering by Ariana Maher, and drawn by yours truly. Please read it! And I hope you enjoy it! ♥ Every game Supergiant produces is artistic perfection, but Pyre definitely impacted me in ways I didn't expect.
All drawn circa 2017. I kept meaning to post these after I completed some fanart for other Supergiant games, but that hasn't happened yet lol... so I'll get to those later. Fanart of UNDERTAILE, drawn December 2018 -- a year ago.
The climax of the Pacifist Route stuck with me, and "Hopes and Dreams" continues to be one of the most inspiring tunes I've had the pleasure of listening to, so I had to draw something inspired by it. Dedicated to my younger brother, because he's the one that finally forced me to sit down and play the game, and to make-up for never drawing a thing he asked me to draw when we were kids. Doing a bit of an art event over at Little Foolery for December... be sure to check it out daily until the 25th for some artsy gifts!
The pins I designed with Dual Wield Studio are now available for purchase to the general purchase!
You can also see the descriptions I wrote for the pins here. It's been a great experience working with DWS, and the quality of the pins are really amazing. Please check it out, as well as the rest of their zodiac collection! The Red Kingdom is a project to give home to a handful of characters who have been with me and Alex for a while. Purdy and the Two Kings is the first of who knows how many entries. The project is anecdotal in nature -- less about overarching plot and more about learning the lore through episodic glimpses into their circumstances.
It was extremely fun bringing this little yeehaw band to life. If you like sci-fi westerns about retired outlaws trying to live their best lives, give it a read! My kingdom for a Dante and Vergil buddy comedy. I love these garbage emotionally stunted twins...
(Devil May Cry 6 when?) Horizon: Zero Dawn is officially the story that rendered me to tears the most in my entire life... I spent 90% of my playthrough sobbing into a pillow. What a wonderful game.
Anyway.... sequel, when? I collaborated with DUAL WIELD STUDIO to create some enamel pins of the western astrological zodiac! I'm quite proud of how they turned out, I hope everyone likes them as much as I do.
The kickstarter for it is live until July 13, 2019 so be sure to get them at a discount if you can. Did some sketches in promotion + excitement for this visual novel! The people making it are shining bright and so are these characters. I can't wait to play it in full and smooch all of them.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of Alex Singer's first published novel, Minotaur!
Read it now if you haven't yet -- or read it again if you have! I watched through The Masked Singer season 1 and I think it may be my new favorite anime of all time... Seriously, though, the first reality show that's made me cry!
It's emotionally compromising how much love I have for Monster. I'm so glad he won. Little Foolery is a banner name for a partnership between myself and Alex Singer, my favorite writer and my best friend. The year 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of us creating stories together, so I commissioned 26 artists to commemorate every story release between 2009-2018. My own piece is a collage composition to commemorate the occasion.
Like most people, got swept up in the Hamilton craze when it was first picking up steam. I was lucky enough to be early enough on the hype train to grab a ticket with the original cast, and managed to grab one right at the front row on the cheap as a birthday gift for myself (bought it for a showing 8 months ahead, but still!). What a show to make my first New York broadway play ever.
At around the time of my showing, I got invited on the infamous zine organized by Arielle Jovellanos, and the day after my showing it was announced LMM would end his run on the stage. It was fate as far as I was concerned. For a play about making history in the moment, it truly was historical for me to see this play in New York in That Moment. Truly a piece of art I can say impacted my life significantly, and for the better. Odin Sphere is one of my favorite games, though I haven't drawn as much art for it as I'd like. I loved the remastered port for the PS4, Leifthrasir, and drew this set shortly after playing in 2016.
(I enjoy thinking of an alternate timeline where Mercedes grows up as an experienced fairy queen and Ingway is her court wizard...) |
